Black in America...Stop Spilling Hate Amongst Ourselves

I just happened one day to view a posting in a forum from someone that wanted the black community to unite and stand proud together. Beautiful, except for the one important message the person truly wanted to convey: Stand proud together, but stand against the light-skinned black people. Or how he so eloquently stated, "the octaroons, quadroons, etc..."

This person stated that the only way for African Americans to advance and get a stronghold in society is to step away from the ones that were a curse in the black culture: lighter shades of black. The devil, the co-conspirator against the black man and his plight. The problem as I had read as he spewed words from Malcolm X (who as I assume he didn't realize was a lighter shade "negro") was that this young brother although a self-proclaimed educator as he called himself was really not educated at all. Quite the contrary. How can a person call for an action of love, peace and unity for the black community, yet, in the same breath ask for division from his people he is striving to unite? This very same brotha also asked that blacks denounce their fathers and forefathers for creating such heathens and procreating with the white man/woman. Little did this buffoon know, (I would assume being an educator as himself he would know that all bloodlines have been mixed throughout the ages so no one is 100% anything but human) that his forefathers were "intermixed" and procreated with the "Massa" and the Missus. They really had no choice in the matter (uh, forced on slave ships, sold on auction blocks, forced to pick cotton, build a nation, forced to accept Christianity, forced to take on the Massas' name, raise their kids and oh but of course Mandingo was a prime catch in the community!)

This idiot went on and on and on to proclaim that once the darker shade black people accepted the fact that lighter shade black people were devils they would in fact be better off. My assessment of the situation? This person was probably scorned countless numbers of times by a light-skinned black woman, and all he could do to alleviate the pain is preach hate against the "light" ones. The black devils...

Until we as African Americans can break free of the very mentality that continues to keep us enslaved...we will never be free, let alone stand in unity....
