For the Love of

Ray J, G's to Gents, Real Chance of Love, RuPaul's Drag Race and every other reality show that graces our television screens. I promised myself after Flava Flav that I would not get serious about another reality series because Flav wore me out, and here lately I have found myself tuning in to From G's to Gents and For the Love of Ray J faithfully! Oh the drama, the madness, such sweet splendor to get worked up over the cast.

History is Made

This was the first time for me that I felt so passionately about the presidential election and did my civic duty to Obama by campaigning for him. He is my idol. The man is what we need to bring America back from the depths of the continual decline of our economy and brotherhood. Yes, I believe our new nation was ready for change and Obama is going to bring it. I know for myself I will be a great part of the change and vow to help Obama rebuild America, one city at a time.

The Value of a Human Life

Sometimes I tend to spend a great deal of time watching The First 48, Crime 360, Notorious, Most Evil, City Confidential, Cold Case Files, Dead Men Talking (see a pattern here?) I enjoy these shows, but saddened at the same time. Each time I watch, the crimes become more vicious, more heinous as the episodes unfold.

Growing Old - Fighting the Age (stuff)

This growing old stuff is for the birds....wait a minute! Is that a....wrinkle? (examining, examining) I can't believe there is a wrinkle under my eye...or maybe that is one of those fine lines...or maybe I just looked in the mirror the wrong way, but it looks like a line...What is this beside my nose....it looks like a....Wrinkle!

For the Love of....

I literally sat on the edge of my seat for RuPaul's drag race hoping Nina Flowers would have won. I was ok with BeBe Zahara because you could see the transition throughout the show, and BeBe was all about class, style and grace. I liked Nina's personality.

I felt slighted after watching the Real Chance of Love reunion only to discover Real didn't stand up to his end of the bargain with Cornfed. I will say however, I was so glad he didn't choose BayBayBay (ugggg!)

Right now I'm feeling a little upset at Mr. Bentley's choice for the winner of G's to Gents: Blue and Mito made marvelous transformations, I personally would have chosen Blue. Once I get to the season finale of For the Love of Ray J, I will not do this again! (I just hope Danger doesn't win and I hope he listens to his mother and sends them all home!)

Since I know there will be round 2 of Real Chance of Love, I am going to fight the urge to watch (ok maybe just one or two episodes so that I can see the lineup)

Just had to get that off of my chest, these reality shows are really wearing me out!

My passion is for artistic expression, either cultural, visual, written, spoken or music. I think when people can express themselves artistically there is a certain je ne sais quoi about the individual. In this world where a percentage of people tend to lean towards the status quo, expression becomes muted because of the lack thereof. For myself I tend to gravitate towards the iconoclastic individuals who choose to challenge the excepted norms. There is beauty in everything around us, we just need to remove the veil from our eyes and the cotton from our ears. Love really is life...We should do it more... Cynthia
